Providing equipment since 1963, George Gordon Associates (GGA) offers custom-tailored packaging system solutions over a wide area of applications. From many years of experience in packaging multi-item foodservice kits, GGA now offers a wide range of wrappers for many applications. Equipment lines include horizontal overwrap, inverted horizontal wrappers, vertical wrapping, placing systems, vertical form fill seal machines, roll stock converting, cylindrical placing, pouch dispensing and pouch web fan-folding, and case/pallet/gaylord layer packing. The Model SOM-10N Servo Flow Wrap Machine is designed to deliver speed and high efficiency for overwrap packaging applications. The system is ideal for installations requiring frequent changeover, with a wide range of product variations. Fast, efficient changeover is made possible with state-of-the-art electronic features and modular construction. Production throughput increases as the communication-friendly controller provides complete line supervision. Maintenance planning and control is made easy with additional electronics for on-screen preventive maintenance flag and a maintenance scheduling window showing the work needed. The SOM-10N Servo Overwrap Machine provides state-of-the-art electronics that enable complete control of both production and maintenance. A fast Ethernet interface provides connection to the Internet through TCP/IP for remote maintenance, e-mail and monitoring, plant networking, and remote Internet diagnostic support from GGA. The simple machine design and rugged, modular construction keeps ownership cost low, ensuring fast payback. The GPS-10 Geometric Packaging line provides solutions for age-old problems with multi-item kit packaging. The system forms the film pocket with a geometrically shaped forming plate, eliminating the need for a forming box, thereby reducing set-up, and overcoming a major catch point problem area. The film feeds from a powered unwind stand, over the forming plate, to make a film tube. The film forms and seals a tube around the product that carries it into the crimper section. The controller synchronizes precision wrapping functions. The VWC Vertical Wrapper provides a four-sided pouch made from two rolls of film. Efficiency is greatly enhanced with the simple design, and it is ideal for higher volume packaging. The system will wrap a wide range of items that will fit in the dedicated package size without changeover. Features include side-by-side infeed conveyor, dual web film feed, dedicated packaging size, "V" pouch loading, shear cutting at up to 240 per minute, and small footprint. Improved efficiency, reduced film usage, and increased speed give less than one-year payback in most cases. Vertical-Form-Fill-Seal with the Model PFS-1000 Powder Filling System. This machine, with a mulit-axis servo system, effectively makes and places condiment pouches on the packaging line at speeds up to 200 per minute. The PFS features servo control of filling, linear sealing, main sealing, rotary knife and outfeed placement. In addition to the low maintenance features the system has the utmost flexibility with quick change to different applications, keeping the system producing. George Gordon Associates, Inc., provides Pouch Dispensing for applications such as inserting a spice or cheese pouch into a pasta box or placing a premium into a cereal box. The process begins with various pouch making machines and a George Gordon Associates’ Fan Folding System. The model FFS folds a condiment pouch uncut web into a portable tote in an overlapping manner lengthwise and width wise to guarantee uniform layers. The layered product may then be effectively stored or transported to a GGA dispenser where it can be easily retrieved from the tote and placed into a secondary packaging operation, saving production cost and increasing efficiency. Layer Pac™ automated loaders efficiently package a variety of products such as bottles jars, cans, boxes, bins, jugs, caps, closures and many others. GGA carton, case and pallet/gaylord loading equipment features a low-contact handling system for packing highly decorated items with high product integrity. Up to 50% cube space is saved with dense pack over tumble pack. The GGA systems feature simplified designs with fewer moving parts, reduced catch points for non-stop operation, fast, easy changeover, and versatility to match your application. Our approach to system design provides you with the advantages of higher efficiency, up to 30% less maintenance, and less downtime. With operating speeds up to 240 cycles/minute, payback time is decreased, while profits substantially increase. We work hard to build a long-term relationship with our customers. Our high standards of equipment design and customer service help you achieve your goals of increased efficiency and higher profits. Our reliable service, operator training, and overnight spare part delivery protect your investment and keep your production up and running.
